Streamlining Student Processes

Co-designing opportunities to simplify the student results and awards processes for seamless operational efficiency.

The Client

A Go8 University (in Sydney) - 2021

The Challenge

A top university in Sydney needed help streamlining its Student Results and Awards (SRA) processes.

Our Approach

DDP was engaged to:

  • Consolidate, refine and document the current end-to-end SRA processes and associated dependencies from exams, records, awarding and conferral.

  • Reduce the manual effort required to manage the SRA process, enabling the redirection of administrative effort away from repetitive tasks and supporting more complex and creative administrative tasks.

  • Process map the end-to-end processes and identify system, people and policy touchpoints.

DDP completed this work through:

  • Process Identification and Mapping

  • Current State Exploration and Analysis

  • Time and Motion Analysis

Key Outcomes

DDP worked with the client to produce the following outputs and outcomes:

  • Pain points and areas for improvement, in particular, identifying challenges surrounding technological support mechanisms, compliance with policy and touchpoints across the Student Administration Services teams

  • Opportunities to simplify, standardise and digitalise SRA processes to support the adoption of a ‘One-University’, student-centric approach.

  • Development of a roadmap, including prioritised improvement initiatives and an associated implementation plan.
